Single Barrel Maris (Gold Wax)

On December 15th we will be releasing our first single-barrel Barleywine via public sale on Twelve Percent’s Square site. For us, there are two purposes to bottle a single barrel at Timber Ales. The first is if we receive a barrel picked by local friend and we want to share the expressions this pick imparts on our base beer. The second is if we are blown away by a barrel, so much that we want it to stand on its own rather than go into a blend. This beer is the latter of those two.

As always, single-barrels will never be encumbered by adjuncts as we want to share what we are tasting from the barrel with all of you.

Cheers!

Jason

Barrel-aged Morning Shakeout Bottles!!

This week we are happy to be releasing Barrel-aged Morning Shakeout in 12oz bottles. We brewed this Breakfast Stout base over a year ago in collaboration with our friends from Marlowe and let it spend the last 13 months aging in Old Rip Van Winkle barrels before packaging it for your enjoyment.

For those that are local to CT, we will have a keg on tap this Friday, November 25th

Cheers!

Jason

Miles of Trails (Night Label)

This week we are excited to be releasing the third version of our Miles of Trials series, what we are calling the “Night Label” version. This latest version uses a new yeast we have been using for our latest hoppy beers, and hope to continue evaluating over the coming months. The dry-hop for Night Label is Citra, Riwaka and Amarillo hops and comes in at 6.5%.

Cheers!

They become the prey of capricious airs that play with them for thirty hours at a stretch sometimes. Before them the head of the calm gulf is filled on most days of the year by a great body of motionless and opaque clouds.
